POSITION SUMMARY

The successful Quality Manager will provide leadership and execution to ensure all manufactured products meet consistent high-quality standards and compliance with internal and external requirements. A value-driven, results focused team member capable of successfully managing and working with employees, the Quality Manager must support and foster a culture that embraces a quality management system that enhances the customer experience with SSI’s products and services.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Quality:
    • Create and execute Quality System Strategy – prevention, appraisal, failure analysis and corrective actions in support for quality standards
    • Develop quality standards and processes to reduce customer quality errors
    • Lead development of SOPs as required
    • Perform regular quality audits to measure and ensure conformity to quality standards, relaying findings to the Production team
    • Improve the quality measurement system - performance measurement
    • Report quality KPIs to the organization
    • Determine root cause and implement corrective actions for non-conformances, using best practice methods
    • Communication
      • New standards and processes to team members
      • lead training and standard process review with team members
      • Improve communication with production team on key failures and defects
      • Be an agent of change for a culture that embraces a “do it right the first time” mindset
  • Cooperate with Process Improvement Team, providing input and support for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Operations Support:
    • Assist in implementation of ERP as needed
    • Ensure newly sourced products and materials meet quality standards

Candidates must be located within commutable distance to Collegeville, PA. This is not a remote role.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with concentration in one or more of the following disciplines:
    • Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial)
    • Management (Supply Chain, Operations)
    • Business
  • Six sigma or Lean Certifications

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in quality and/or continuous improvement
  • Experience in improving manufacturing processes
  • Strong written and oral communications skills - including presentation skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Proven analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Change management skills with the ability to implement change
  • Proficient computer skills – particularly Microsoft Office applications
  • ERP/MRP Systems experience

Ability to communicate and provide constructive feedback in a positive nature at all levels of the organization regarding performance and objectives. Ability to lead, mentor and delegate by providing employees with clear direction. Ability to take direction from Senior Management and display a positive “can-do” attitude, strong work ethic and utilizing strong problem-solving skills. Ability to motivate and empower people to build a team.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
