POSITION SUMMARY

The Receiving Associate is responsible for the accurate and timely processing and put away of incoming materials from vendors. This includes inspection of products for defect, damage and shortage. The Receiving Associate will participate with Inventory Control in order to ensure accurate material counts at all times. This position will also be responsible to drive the company vehicle for warehouse transfers, local delivery, and material pickup while maintaining professional representation of the Company in all interactions with customers and through responsible driving.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily.

  • Assist all drivers to safely unload all incoming deliveries.
  • Verify all pickups/deliveries match receiving documents and Purchase Orders.
  • Inspect all pickups/deliveries documenting all overage, shortage and damage – notify buyer immediately.
  • Ensure same-day receipt into the system for all pickups/deliveries.
  • Process all paperwork (pack slips, invoices, etc.) and maintain records for reporting, tracking and auditing.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts in cooperation with Inventory control team.
  • Put away received material in designated locations
  • Restock and organize all materials as needed.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • Assist with scrap/waste material management including scrap deliveries as needed.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards.
  • Safely operate forklift and other material handling equipment.
  • Pick up material from the company warehouse and suppliers/vendors using company vehicles (i.e., flatbed, straight truck).
  • All other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Job requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Basic math skills – fractions, decimals, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
  • Understanding of measurements and use of a tape measure to 1/32 of an inch
  • Minimum 1 year fork truck experience
  • Clear Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and at least 1 year experience driving a non-CDL rated box-truck
  • Detail oriented, demonstrate a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to properly balance production, quality and safety
  • Willingness to work as a team member and maintain positive attitude is a must
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Capable of lifting up to 50lbs
